Province: Misiones
Type of property: family farm agroecological
Size (ha): 21.6
Crops: pine, annual, vegetable, fruit
We speak: Spanish, English, Swiss, Swiss-German, and French
Description: We are a Swiss-Argentine couple with 2 small children just starting up our family farm and looking for some good helping hands. Our farm is situated in a rural area close to Obera, Misiones and has a forest reserve bordering two beautiful streams and waterfalls. Right now, we have a small house and 2 horses, and soon we hope to incorporate chickens, pigs and buffalo. As we are just starting, we would like help with many different jobs, both around the farm and in the house. Our plan for the next few months is to build sheds and barns, prepare water systems, install fencing, make dry composting toilets, plant a vegetable garden, develop an agro-forestry system inside an area of pines already on the farm, and install a cropping system for fruit trees, shrubs and flowers.
Accomodation: We can accommodate a maximum of 2 volunteers. For now, we can only offer space to camp, but in the future we want to have a house for people who come here to help us. (We would like to build a green home with mud and wood.) In the main house, there is a bathroom with hot water, land phone to receive calls from abroad and Internet access.
Food: We will cook and eat together; at first ingredients will come from local markets, and as we produce more we should use what becomes available from our gardens.

Size (ha): 8
Crops: Poplar, willow, Citrus, Junco, Huerta, Girgolas

FACILITIES: Low season, for 6 months I have a free cabin with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with hot showers and firewood to receive volunteers. Key requirement: a deep love of nature. The Delta is a wonderful area, a wetland, which performs essential functions for the nature and need to defend and protect, for example, the possible advancement of mega real estate projects.
Accomodation: From May to September there are 3 doubles beds and 3 singles with their respective linen, pillows and towels. A good number would be up to 6.

When to come: In principle, from May to September until we have more place for hosting.
Additional comments: A little about the Parana Delta- it is caused by deposition of sediments rich in organic matter, which come from the Andes Mountains in northwestern Argentina. The Rio Bermejo and Pilcomayo River sediment discharge their wastewater into the Rio Paraguay and Rio Parana. It runs approx. 1000 km before emptying into the Rio de la Plata placed there about 200 million tons of sediment annually. This phenomenon occurs due to the tidal River Plate maritime influenced by tides that are produced regularly by the influence of the moon and remarkably by the action of winds blowing mainly when the Southeast retaining the waters descend the Parana River and thereby causing the accumulation of sediments that give rise wings of the Delta islands. This causes a "breakthrough" of the Delta on the Rio de la Plata from 70 to 90 meters per year.
Children: it is possible. Please let us know in advance.
